Tuesday afternoon....

Great morning painting, laying cement block and applying concrete finish at Bethel Learning Center and Country School.  Temps are a little cooler at 95 : ) We are building relationships and making new friends. We have learned that soccer is not very popular here. Baseball and basketball are the favorite sports. We will take a break from 2:30 - 4:30 to rest and recover from heat.  Then we are headed downtown for ice cream and cultural dancing. Please continue to pray for God's guidance and hand of protection, pray for open, teachable spirits on behalf of the team and the people here.  Pray for the leaders, who are a little stiff from sleeping on concrete floors! Makes you appreciate the little things. : )  I'm going to see if I can post pictures here - if not check out New Hope Youth Group facebook group page for photos of work crews.

Tuesday morning.....

Hot, hot, and more hot! CrAzY drivers here - makes you appreciate the curtesy of the midwest. : )
Work projects this morning and early afternoon.  We will break about 2 for a rest (due to heat).  Ice cream downtown tonight! Yumm!  God has been good to us!

Monday evening....

Wonderful time at the beach with host church celebrating Puerto Rico Constitution Day, praying, and meeting people. Left beach at 5:15 and got back to Caguas at 7:30.  Absolutely crazy driving in Puerto Rico.  Groups got split up with 3 cars arriving together but one got split off and is 3o mins behind us.  Please pray for safe travel!

Additional summary of today: We divided up into serving teams and painted, cleaned and scraped today before we headed to the beach for the holiday. We met up with our host church at the beach and many cool things are happening!  Service group got sweet bread that the people blessed in Hebrew.  We gave some to a homeless guy.  We met a guy who has a job offer in Iowa!  We were able to do a prayer walk on the beach and for fun....there was a wall the kids could jump and dive off into the ocean.

Tomorrow is a bigger service day and culture night.  We are all learning unbelievable patience! : )

Monday morning....

Awesome time last night! Now we are heading out to work projects with the host church until lunch.  Then we are heading to the beach with the host church to celebrate Constitucion del Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico (or Commonwealth Constitution Day) a national Puerto Rican holiday.

Sunday evening....

Incredible night of fellowship and worship.  Pastor of Racine church has relative in Adel! God is doing some incredible things in our mist.

Sunday afternoon....

Team has been reflecting on God's gifts to us.  Having lunch and heading to the El Yunque Rain Forest to see amazing waterfalls and breathtaking vistas of God's creation. : )
